Transarterial Radioembolization (TARE)

Transarterial Radioembolization (TARE) is a procedure in which β emitter Y90 microspheres are injected into the blood vessels supplying the cancer cells in Hepato Cellular Carcinoma (HCC).

TARE can be done in patients with metastatic colorectal cancers and also other metastases into liver.

Gliadel (Carmustine wafers)

Gliadel (Carmustine Wafers) is a local chemotherapy drug that is recommended for implantation in patients with high-grade glioma (brain tumor) or glioblastoma multiforme, after surgery. Neurosurgeons implant gliadel in the cavity after resection of tumor. These wafers release carmustine which binds the DNA of the tumor cells preventing them from dividing, eventually leading to their death.
